Pocitos Neighborhood

Pocitos is an upmarket neighbourhood of Montevideo with a beach on the banks of the Rio de la Plata. The area is characterized by 10-15 storey apartment buildings intermingled with older houses, cafes, shops restaurants, markets, offices & schools. The Pocitos Rambla is the centre of festivals and exhibitions and the breathing and social space of the residents. Plaza Gomensoro is located adjacent to the beach and is one of Montevideo's important squares.
